🏷 completed πŸ“ Zaria, Kaduna Nigeria πŸ—“ 2025-03-01 β€” 2025-03-31

This workshop, held in Zaria and focused on vegetable farmers, was designed in response to findings from our farmer survey. It also marked the official launch of IDAP Zaria β€” GAERS’ first dedicated farmer WhatsApp group. Before this, GAERS only operated a general stakeholder group. With IDAP Zaria, we created a space for continuous learning and peer support, ensuring farmers remain equipped with practical knowledge beyond the training event.

Project Details

Period: March 2025 This workshop, held in Zaria and focused on vegetable farmers, was designed in response to findings from our farmer survey. It also marked the official launch of IDAP Zaria β€” GAERS’ first dedicated farmer WhatsApp group. Before this, GAERS only operated a general stakeholder group. With IDAP Zaria, we created a space for continuous learning and peer support, ensuring farmers remain equipped with practical knowledge beyond the training event. πŸ“Œ Impact: Farmers gained hands-on knowledge in safe handling, storage, and processing techniques that directly reduce post-harvest losses. Participants reported improved awareness of NAFDAC standards and compliance requirements, giving them confidence to produce food that meets both local and export market expectations. The establishment of IDAP Zaria created a sustainable learning community, where over 100 farmers continue to receive weekly guidance, share experiences, and access advisory support. Farmers expressed greater motivation to adopt safer, more professional practices that improve both income and consumer trust.
